I'm glad you were able to take in some of your town's activities with good weather and there is nothing wrong with watching the rest of it on tv being
comfortable in your home.
LOL .. Yes, I hope the weather stays nice for my town's festivities next weekend. We've had snowstorms and -20 degrees, but everything still goes on.
I always felt sorry for the parade participants in such weather, but they seem to enjoy it nevertheless. That's life in the Northland.
Reply from LifesMagic1985: I guess as the Hollywood saying goes, "The show must go on!" More power to those folks for braving those conditions. Hopefully, they won't have
to this year.
It has been milder here for this time of year, too, but I think it's going to start dropping next week. At least, that's the last thing I remember
hearing about the weather!
Just a note to say your avatar and blogs brought memories to me. My husband and I loved horse racing and went every week when we lived in
Maryland and after moving to Florida we had to limit the time going as we were 400 miles from any major track but did manage to go twice a year for a week at
a time.
He passed away in 2007 and I do so miss going to the races and do watch any on TV I can find.
I also live alone and have no family here in Florida but have sisters and brother in Maryland and Virginia.
So glad you have a nice day for your town's festivities and how nice you get off
work a little earlier to be able to enjoy it. We have something similar here the weekend following Thanksgiving .. there's a parade with Santa and the
stores have open house with cookies, coffee and hot cocoa and the tree is lit in the city square.
Reply from LifesMagic1985: I walked around a little bit, but didn't stay out too long. I'm not comfortable in large crowds and we get a lot of people come into town for this
now. I ended up watching some of it on the news, lol!
Your town's festivities sound lovely. Hope you have good weather for them next weekend!
Reply from LifesMagic1985: It has stopped raining and is a pretty nice day...Cool with a mix of clouds & sun. I'm glad it's not raining today. It's Light Up Night in
the city, which is the official kick off to the Christmas season. They have a lot of activities/events planned for this evening. We are even allowed to leave
work an hour early today, which is nice.
